About HWTUTU

HWTUTU is a free resource for outdoor enthusiasts. We build simple, useful tools and share plain-language guides to help you plan, prepare and enjoy your adventures.

Our mission is to make outdoor life easier — whether you're a first-time camper or an experienced backpacker.

Who is behind HWTUTU

HWTUTU is built and edited by Liu Xi, a software engineer and the site’s founder. Liu Xi is not a certified outdoor guide or medical professional, and the site does not pretend otherwise. Read the full author profile for the author’s background and how the editorial process is handled.

How this site is made

Content is compiled from publicly available information — land-agency guidance, published formulas, manufacturer documentation and general reference material — and drafted with AI assistance. A human editor checks structure, consistency and obvious errors before publication. We do not claim to have field-tested every route or product mentioned here.

We think that process should be visible, not hidden. If something is wrong, outdated or unclear, tell us and we will correct or remove it. Read the full Editorial Policy, Testing & Methodology, Content Sources & Accuracy statement, or the Safety & Medical Disclaimer.

What we do not do

• We do not sell gear and do not currently use affiliate links; product categories are mentioned for identification only.
• We do not accept payment for positive reviews or product placement.
• We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
• We do not guarantee that a calculator result matches real-world conditions.
• We do not ask you to create an account or hand over an email address.
